This web section is created for all MKA members to express and share their love of their beloved dogs. Children of MKA members and junior members are especially encouraged to make use of this page to tell everyone about how special your pet is.

To submit, simply e-mail one picture of you and your dog(s) and in approximately 200 words, describe why your dog is so special to you. Send it to admin@mka.org.my.

Please be notified that publishing, editing and removal of your picture and text will be at the sole discretion of MKA. This service is free for all members. Kindly indicate your membership number and name. For kids, please indicate your parent's name and membership number.

Our special friend Dexter

"With proper training, look at how sweet and well-mannered he is."

We are two brothers aged 13 and 9 with our Rottweiler, Dexter whom we call Dex. Dex is more than a friend because he is our pet and it’s like another member of our family. When we leave for school in the morning Dex is present to see us go and you can see the sadness in his eyes & when we returns from school, Dex will also be there. You can see the excitement in his behaviour & eyes. Outsiders finds it odd that we hug & kiss Dex so naturally. Mummy keeps Dex as clean as possible. Thanks to the training given by our MKA dog trainer who  talked about importance of “bonding” with the dog. We do not quite understand this word, but we know that Dex is our special friend & we play with him like it is another kid in the house.  We don't understand why some people keep saying Rottweilers are dangerous. With proper training, look at how sweet and well-mannered he is. It will break our hearts if Dex is taken away from us. Kong Yaw & Kong Chern Melaka

Thank you Angel for getting rid of my dog phobia!

"It was Angel who helped me get over my fear."

My name is Edward Chan and this is my special friend "Angel" I am 10 years old and Angel, 2. Angel is a Miniature Poodle. Just until last year, I have always been terrified of dogs be they big or small. I will actually tremble with fear whenever a dog gets near me. My uncle tried very hard to get rid of my fear but still, I am as afraid as ever. When my uncle brought Angel into his home early last year, I was still afraid of her but as time gets by, Angel proofed to me and show me that she is a really good and trustworthy friend. It was Angel who helped me get over my fear and soon, I was wrestling and playing with her. Eventually, my fear for dogs was totally gone and I am even not afraid of my uncle's Rottweiler and Dobermann. I also learned a new word - "phobia" which means a fear for something.
